I'LL INTRODUCE MYSELF, MY NAME IS BRITNEY DELANEY I AM A KARATE FOR INDIANS AND WRITER EVENT PRODUCER AND CODIRECTOR OF GROUND SERIES DANCE AND SOCIAL DIRECTOR.

BASED IN LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA AND AM REALLY EXCITED TO BE HERE VIRTUALLY IN INDIO CALIFORNIA.

I ALSO SERVE AS A SECRETARY FOR THE ARTS AND PLANNING DIVISION OF THE AMERICAN PLANNING ASSOCIATION.

I HAVE A LOT OF EXCITEMENT TO BE IN SPACES OF IMAGINATION AND BUILDING COMMUNITY.

I'M EXCITED TO BRING THIS PROJECT TO THE INDIO PUBLIC ARTS COMMISSION BECAUSE HER PROJECT IS CALLED FREE THE BODY AND IT'S GOING TO TAKE PLACE AT COACHELLA VALLEY ARTS CENTER IN JANUARY 2023.

SO WHAT IS FREE THE BODY? FREE THE BODY IS AN DISCIPLINARY INSTALLATION AND RESEARCH PROJECT AND ASKED THE QUESTION OF WHAT IT FEELS LIKE TO BE FREE IN YOUR BODY.

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE RELATIONSHIPS OR SENSATIONS OF THAT AND WHAT IS IT MEAN FOR PEOPLE PERSONALLY, CULTURALLY, POLITICALLY, SOCIALLY.

I'M REALLY EXCITED TO BRING THIS PROJECT TO THE COACHELLA VALLEY ARTS CENTER.

AND THE COACHELLA VALLEY MEANS A LOT TO ME.

I WORKED AND LIVED THERE FROM 2015 TO 2019 AND I'M REALLY EXCITED TO BRING THIS PROJECT BACK TO THE DESERT.

I HAVE MY COLLEAGUE PETER HERE AND I'LL PASS IT TO HIM.

I'VE KNOWN BRITNEY SINCE SHE WAS A STUDENT AT WESLEY UNIVERSITY.

WE STAYED IN TOUCH ON AND OFF AND AUSPICIOUS BECAME TOGETHER ABOUT FIVE MONTHS AGO, AGAIN ABOUT HUMAN RIGHTS, WOMEN'S RIGHTS, ET CETERA.

I'M A COMPOSER, WRITER AND HUMAN RIGHTS EDUCATOR.

NOW ONTO MY MASTERS RESEARCH AND POSTGRADUATE RESEARCH IS FROM NYU ARTS POLITIC PROGRAM WHERE MY FOCUS IS ON HUMAN RIGHTS EDUCATION AND POWER IDENTITY IN DIFFERENT VIOLENCES.

IN THIS PROJECT TO FREE THE BODY, WE'RE LOOKING AT VERY MUCH, AS BRITNEY SAID WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO FEEL FREE, WORRIED WE ACCESS FREEDOM IN THIS WORLD THAT WE LIVE IN WITH ALL HER RESPONSIBILITIES.

THE ARTISTIC PROJECT ITSELF, INTERDISCIPLINARY, AND IMMERSIVE ART INSTALLATION PRODUCING MULTIMEDIA, VISUAL ART, SOUND, INSTALLATION, DANCE.

BUT ALSO IS PARTICIPATORY AND A NUMBER OF WAYS WHICH WERE VERY EXCITED ABOUT.

WE CERTAINLY OPEN THE SPACES TO CELEBRATE INDIGENOUS RIGHTS AND THE RIGHTS OF YOUTH WHICH WILL BE CELEBRATING DIRECTLY AT A KIDS WORKSHOP THIS SATURDAY AT THE COACHELLA VALLEY ARTS CENTER.

AND PEOPLE HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY THROUGHOUT THE PERIOD OF THE INSTALLATION BUT ALSO OF THE WILD WOMEN WORKSHOP THAT BRITNEY IS SPEARHEADING TO GIVE AUDIO TESTIMONY.

OF COURSE IT WILL BE AN OMINOUS BUT WITHOUT A RESPECT FOR THE PARTICIPANTS BUT IT'LL BE EMBEDDED INTO THE SOUND SCORE OF THE INSTALLATION ART PIECE IN THE COACHELLA VALLEY ARTS CENTER.

LASTLY ALSO THE ART PIECE IS MEANT AS ART DOES TO COMMUNICATE AND A SHARED EXPERIENCE AND TO OPEN UP AN ARCHITECTURE OF INVITATION FOR EVERYONE TO HAVE A SHARED EXPERIENCE ACROSS THEIR OWN INDIVIDUAL EXPERIENCES.

WE ARE USING THE PRACTICE AND THEORY OF ABOLITION, NOMINALISM THAT GOES ALL THE WAY BACK TO CHAMPION BY ANGELA DAVIS, GINA DENT AND OTHERS.

ONE OF THE AMAZING THINGS THAT WE LOVE ABOUT IT, I'LL WRAP UP HERE.

YOU ASKED TO PUT SOMETHING DOWN AND CREATE SOMETHING THAT HASN'T EXISTED BEFORE AND LOOK AT BOTH OF THEM TOGETHER DRAWING ON THE BEST OF BOTH, RATHER THAN SEEING THEM AS EXCLUSIVE OPPOSITE.

THERE IS TOO MUCH DIVISION IN THE WORLD AND TOO MUCH NOT SHARING AND LEARNING FROM ONE ANOTHER.

THIS PROJECT IS A DIRECT CHALLENGE BY CELEBRATING THE INVITATION AND PARTICIPATION OF ART FORMS, PEOPLE, CULTURES ET CETERA. I'M SUPER EXCITED TO COME OUT TOMORROW.

>>: LET ME JUST ADD IN THE SPIRIT OF COLLABORATION WE'VE BEEN REACHING OUT TO LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS I'M IN TOUCH WITH THE GROUP THAT HAS BEEN IN THE ARTS COMMISSION A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO FEELING RHYTHMS WITH LACEY SO WERE PLANNING TO DO SOMETHING LATER IN THE FALL WHEN THE MASTER DRUMMER COMES BACK AND THEN AZTECA WHO WILL BE PART OF THE WORKSHOP ON THE 24TH TO SHARE THEIR PERSPECTIVES IN RELATIONSHIP ON THE DESERT AND THEN WILD WOMEN WHICH IS COACHELLA VALLEY FEMINIST COLLECTIVE AS WELL AS THE REALLY IMPORTANT FOR GROUNDED SERIES IN ADDITION TO SHARING POWERFUL ART THAT WE REALLY THINK ABOUT RESOURCES AND EDUCATION AND CONNECTING TO SHARE SOME OF THE RESOURCES AS WELL AND TO BE A GOOD NEIGHBOR AND A GOOD VISITOR I WANT TO BE SENSITIVE TO WHAT THE PUBLIC ARTS COMMISSION HAS COMING UP FOR THIS FALL AND WINTER AND OTHER INDIO INITIATIVES.

I KNOW YOU GUYS HAVE SO MANY AMAZING EVENTS AND FESTIVALS.

TONIGHT BEFORE YOU, YOU HAVE ITEM 5.1 WHICH IS INDIO MURAL NUMBER 12 PROJECT SELECTION.

WE NAMED THE MURAL NUMBER 12 BECAUSE WE WANTED THE ARTIST TO GETS PICKED NAMED ARTWORK HIMSELF OR HERSELF.

THAT IS WHY THE ART PIECE GOES OUT IT'S ONLY DEFIED BY NUMBER.

THE RELEASE OF ART WAS JULY 1ST AND THE DEADLINE WAS AUGUST 12 -- I'M SORRY AUGUST 22.

WE RECEIVED 12 PROPOSALS FROM TALENTED ARTIST AND ALL OF THEM MET THE APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS.

STAFF REVIEWED THEM TO MAKE SURE THEY MEET THE APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS AND THEN ON SEPTEMBER 3 STAFF ON THE COMMITTEE MET AND SELECTED TO NARROW DOWN FROM 12 TO THREE PROPOSALS WERE ARTIST.

YOU SEE THE MURALS SUPPOSED TO BE PLACED ON THE WALL BEHIND THE ARTWORK COLOSSAL CACTI.

THE NUMBER ONE, I WAS CHOSEN BY THE COMMITTEE, THE IMAGE THAT YOU SEE FROM ZACH FLEMING.

NUMBER TWO THE IMAGE IS FROM JESSICA MACIAS AND NUMBER THREE IS FROM PATRICK BARWINSKI. THE COMMUNITY CHOSE THESE THREE MURALS OR ARTWORKS BASED ON THE VISUAL, VALUES ONLY, THEY DIDN'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE ARTIST, WHO IS THE ARTIST OR THE NAMES.

IT WAS A BLIND SELECTION TO BE FAIR TO ALL THE ARTIST.

ALL THREE OF THE ARTIST ARE HERE AND THEY WILL PRESENT.

THEY EACH HAVE A FIVE MINUTE PRESENTATION AND THEY WILL PRESENT TO THE COMMISSION IN THE COMMISSION AT THE END OF EACH PRESENTATION HAS TIMES TO ASK QUESTIONS.

HI MY NAME IS ZACH FLEMING BOYLES.

I'M AN ARTIST AND ART EDUCATOR POINTED RAISED IN THE COACHELLA VALLEY.

IT'S A BIT IN HONOR TO PRESENT NERO DESIGN TO THE COMMISSION.

I GRADUATED FROM THE UNIVERSITY CALIFORNIA BERKELEY WITH 2009 AND A DEGREE IN OUR PRACTICE AND WORK IT CREATE CENTER FOR ARTS AND PALM CENTER PRINTMAKING CLASSES AND MANAGING ORGANIZATION YOUTH PROGRAMS. PRIOR TO THAT I WORKED AT THE PALM SPRINGS ART MUSEUM FOR EIGHT YEARS AS MANAGER OF SCHOOL PROGRAMS OVERSEEING CLASS FIELD TRIPS, YOUTH OUTREACH PROGRAMS AND COMMUNITY PROJECTS. UPON LEARNING ABOUT THIS PROJECT I WAS INSTANTLY INTRIGUED BY THE PROSPECT OF DESIGNING A MURAL FOR SITE NUMBER 12 BECAUSE OF THE COLOSSAL CACTI INSTALLATION. FOR THE PAST FEW YEARS THE CACTUS HAS BEEN A PRIMARY SOURCE OF INSPIRATION FOR MY ART THAT RESULTS UNDERREPRESENTED RESILIENCE OF LIGHT.

TO COLLABORATE WITH THE COLOSSAL CACTI INSTALLATION IS WHAT EXCITED ME THE MOST ABOUT THIS PROJECT AS A RELATES CLOSELY TO MY EXISTING BODY OF WORK.

YOU MAY NOTICE THAT THE DESIGN I HAVE PROPOSED IS SOMEWHAT A DEPARTURE FROM THE PSEUDO- REALISTIC STYLE THAT I CURRENTLY WORK IN.

I WANTED MY DESIGN TO COMPLEMENT THE STRUCTURE OF THE EXISTING SCULPTURAL WORKS TO CREATE A MORE VISUAL EXPERIENCE.

>> BY VERO IS BASED ON PAINTINGS THAT STARTED IN 2011 AFTER RETURNING TO THE DESERT FROM RETURNING FROM COLLEGE.

I MUST ADMIT GROWN UP IN THE DESERT I TOOK THE NATURAL BEAUTY THAT SURROUNDS THE COACHELLA VALLEY FOR GRANTED.

AFTER MOVING BACK AGAIN TO DO APPRECIATION FOR THE UNIQUE FEATURES FOUND A LOCAL LANDSCAPE WITH THE FASCINATION OF THE SANTA ROSA MOUNTAINS IN THE WAY LIGHT AND SHADOW DANCE ACROSS THE SURFACE AS IT CHANGES COLOR THROUGHOUT THE DAY.

AS A KID THE MOUNTAINS WERE NOT SO MUCH AN OBJECT OF AESTHETIC FASCINATION BUT A PLAYGROUND WHERE MY IMAGINATION CAN FLOURISH.

AS AN ONLY CHILD IN A SINGLE-PARENT HOUSEHOLD MUCH OF MY YOUTH WAS SPENT ALONE SCRIBBLING UP AND DOWN THE BOULDERS OF THE FOOTHILLS AND AFTER SCHOOL WATCHING THE SUNSET OVER THE

VALLEY FROM ELEVATED OUTCROPPINGS AND THE ROCKS.

THE WORD SOLITUDE CARRIES WITH IT NEGATIVE CONNOTATIONS BUT MY EXPERIENCE THERE IS A CERTAIN SERENITY TO BEING ALONE IN NATURE THAT CAN'T BE FOUND ELSEWHERE.

WE DON'T REALLY HAVE A WORD FOR IT IN ENGLISH BUT IN GERMAN THIS FEELING IS BALD IN SOME KIND, SOLITUDE OF THE FORCE.

IN THE COACHELLA VALLEY BEADED IS DESERT SURROUNDED BY MOUNTAINS I SUPPOSE SOLITUDE OF THE MOUNTAINS.

AS FOR LACK OF A BETTER WORD I MAGICAL FEELING IN ONE CREDIT TOWARDS MY DEVELOPMENT AS AN ARTIST.

WHEN I FIRST LEARNED ABOUT THE MURAL PROJECT.

I KNEW EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED TO DO, I WASN'T SURE HOW TO MAKE IT HAPPEN.

I GOT TO MY CAR, DROVE TO THE SITE AND STARTED SNAPPING PHOTOS IN SPACE.

I THOUGHT IT WAS IMPORTANT TO GET A FEEL FOR THE SIZE AND SCALE AND THE WALL UPON WHICH THE MURAL IS TO BE PAINTED AS WELL AS THE COLOSSAL CACTI INSTALLATION TO MAKE SURE MY DESIGN DID NOT CLASH OR ATTRACT FROM THE EXISTING WORK.

IT WAS ALSO AT THIS TIME I CONTEMPLATED WAYS TO GO ABOUT ACTUALLY PAINTED THE INSTALLATION SUCH AS TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT I WOULD NEED IN ORDER TO FOR MY BUDGET AND TIMELINE. WHEN I GOT HOME I PRINTED OUT ONE OF THE PHOTOS AND PLACED TRACING PAPER AND STARTED OUTLINING THE COMPOSITION AND PENCIL.

IT WAS DIGITALLY SCANNED AND OVERLAID ONTO THE ORIGINAL PHOTOGRAPHS IN COLOR ADDED USING PHOTOSHOP.

THE ACTUAL MURAL ITSELF WOULD FOLLOW A SIMILAR PROGRESSION.

ONCE THE SURFACE HAS BEEN CLEANED AND PRIMED I WOULD PROJECT THE OUTLINE OF THE MOUNTAINS ONTO THE WALL AND TRACE OVER THE LINES WITH PAINT.

WHEN THE OUTLINE IS COMPLETED I WOULD FILL IN THE SPACE AND COLOR BASED ON THE EXISTING COLOR CHART.

WITH REGARDS TO THE TIME I DEFINED IS SELECTED I WILL DEVOTE THE REMAINDER OF SEPTEMBER TOWARDS PROCURING THE MATERIALS I WOULD NEED TO PICK THE MURAL.

FORTUNATELY WORKING AT THE ART EDUCATION CENTER I HAVE ACCESS TO MOST OF THE EQUIPMENT I WOULD NEED WITH THE EXCEPTION OF A FEW SPECIALIZED TOOLS.

ALSO IN SEPTEMBER I WOULD START CLEANING AND PREPARING THE SURFACE FOR THE PAINT.

THE ACTUAL PAINTING WOULD OCCUR THROUGHOUT OCTOBER WITH THE BULK OF THE WORK OCCURRING ON WEEKENDS.

IT'S HARD FOR ME TO ESTIMATE THE EXACT TIMELINE BUT ONCE THE INITIAL DESIGN IS OUTLINE I IMAGINE THE MURAL WILL GO PRETTY QUICKLY WITH HAVING EVERYTHING DONE BY THE END OF OCTOBER. THE FINAL UV RESISTANT VARNISH AND ANTI-GRAFFITI PROTECTION IS INTENDED TO BE ADDED THE FIRST PART OF NOVEMBER.

AS AN ART EDUCATOR I ALSO SAW THIS PROJECT AS A TEACHING OPPORTUNITY AND CREATED A PAINT BY NUMBER SYSTEM THAT WOULD ALLOW THE PUBLIC TO PARTICIPATE IN THE MURALS CREATION, MY INITIAL IDEA WAS TO REACH OUT TO ART TEACHER IN INDIO, SHADOW HILLS AND I SCHOOLS AND OFFER AN INVITATION TO THEIR STUDENTS TO INSIST ON PAINTING THE LOWER PORTION OF THE MURAL AS A FIELD TRIP EXPERIENCE.

THE BUDGET I SET ASIDE A PORTION OF THE FUNDING TO COVER THE COST OF TRANSPORTATION TO THE SITE IF I'M ABLE TO MAKE ARRANGEMENTS POSSIBLE.

IF NOT THAT FUNDING WOULD GO TOWARDS HIRING LOCAL ARTIST TO ASSIST ME IN PAINTING THE MURAL.

IT WOULD MEAN A LOT FOR ME PERSONALLY AT MY DESIGN WERE CHOSEN FOR SITE 12.

INDIO IS WHERE I SPENT THE FIRST SEVEN YEARS OF MY LIFE IN THE FIRST PLACE I EVER CALLED HOME.

I WANT TO GET BACK TO THE COMMUNITY TO HELP ME DEVELOP INTO THE ARTIST I AM TODAY AND HOPEFULLY INSPIRE OTHERS TO SEE THE MOUNTED A DIFFERENT LIGHT AND PAY MORE ATTENTION TO THE NATURAL BEAUTY WE ARE SURROUNDED BY.

I HAVE THREE YEARS WITH THAT IN THE PALM SPRINGS ART MUSEUM.

I ALSO HAVE BEEN FREELANCED ARTIST FOR TEN YEARS.

MY GOAL WHEN I FIRST SAW THIS PROJECT, I WANTED TO BE ABLE TO MAKE A LANDMARK FOR THE COMMUNITY TO BE ABLE TO FEEL A PART OF IT AND TO BE ABLE TO DO SOMETHING IN MY COMMUNITY WHERE I WAS BORN AND RAISED.

PERIOD THIS IS A PROGRESSIVE SHOT WHERE I DEVELOPED THE INITIAL -- LET ME SEE IF I CAN GET THAT, THERE WE GO. WHEN I WAS INITIALLY THINKING OF AN IDEA FOR THIS MURAL, I DID WANT A MODERN COLORS.

I KNOW WE WERE LOOKING AT THE COLOSSAL CACTUS ARTWORK, IT IS ALSO VERY MODERN, VERY NEW AND I WANTED THAT TO REFLECT WITH THESE COLORS AS WELL.

NOT NECESSARILY HAVING SOMETHING HYPER REALISTIC AND COLOR WISE BUT WITHOUT MODERN COLOR.

WHEN I START I LIKE TO DEVELOP MY COLOR PALETTE AND I DECIDED TO DO IT WITH THE DATE PALM.

I DID THE DATE PALM JUST BECAUSE I DID WANT TO DO SOMETHING MODERN BUT I ALSO WANTED TO KEEP SOMETHING THAT WE KNOW AND LOVE IN OUR HISTORY IS ALSO ROOTED IN WHICH IS THE DATE PALM.

ALSO HOW I CAME UP WITH MY COLOR PALETTE WAS THINKING ABOUT, KIND OF WHEN YOU LOOK AT SOMETHING WITH HEAT SENSORS, USING THE WARMTH IN SOMETHING, YOU SEA LIFE AND I KINDA WANTED THAT TO REFLECT IN THE DATE PALM WITH THE RED AND ORANGE FOR THE LEAVES GIVING THAT THAT IS SOMETHING GROWING AND LIVING IN THE DATES THAT ARE GOING ON AS WELL.

YOU SEE IT STARTED OFF WITH A COOL BLUE AND SLOWLY GROWING INTO THE YELLOW WHICH IS ALSO LIFE COMING THROUGH AND A LOT OF LIFE INTO THIS VALLEY AS WELL.

THIS WAS MY FINISHED PRODUCT, HIGHLIGHTING INDIO WITH THE NAME ON IT AND HAVING NOT BE SOMETHING THAT PEOPLE CAN INTERACT WITH AS WELL AND BE A LANDMARK FOR OUR COMMUNITY.

FOR MY TIMELINE, I WOULD START OFF WITH THE WELL PREP AND INSPECTION TO MAKE SURE THERE IS NO CRACKS THAT NEED TO BE FILLED, KIND OF JUST MAKING SURE WE HAVE A SMOOTH KIND OF CANVAS FOR THE PAINTING.

I WOULD GO IN WITH POWER WASHING AND PREPPING THE WALLS AS WELL.

I WANT TO MAKE SURE THIS PAIN IS GOING TO STICK AND LAST FOR A VERY LONG TIME.

FOR THEN PROGRESSING I WOULD GO IN WITH THE BASE COLOR, THE FILL WITH THE DARK BLUE AND MOVE ON TO OUTLINE THE GRID, MY METHOD I DON'T REALLY LIKE TO DO THE SQUARE FOOT GRID I DO THE DOODLE METHOD WHICH IS MAKING A WHOLE BUNCH OF LITTLE DRAWINGS TO FIT TO SCALE AND THEN YOU FILL IT IN.

GOING ON THE DETAIL AND COLOR AND TOUCHING UP THE FINISHED PIECE AND WAITING FOR IT TO DRY AND FINISHING OFF WITH THE UV VARNISH/GRAFFITI SEALANT.

FOR THE TIMELINE IT WOULD PROBABLY BE NEAR TO THE END OF SEPTEMBER, GOING INTO OCTOBER AS WELL JUST DEPENDING ON WHETHER WHAT'S GOING ON AT THE VALLEY AT THE TIME.

I CAN'T GIVE AN EXACT TIMELINE BUT I WOULD SAY ANYWHERE FROM A MONTH TO TWO WEEKS.

TWO WEEKS TO A MONTH TO GET THIS DONE.

JUST FROM EXPERIENCE THAT I HAVE WITH THE COMMUNITY ARTS, I DID CITY OF INDIO PUBLIC ARTS COMMISSION SIGNAL BOX, THIS WAS MY DESIGN FOR THAT AND LOCATED ON THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF 48 THE MONROE STREET.

IN 2020 I DID A PUBLIC ART BENCH PROJECT DESIGNING AND PAINTING EVENT IN DOWNTOWN PALM SPRINGS AND THIS IS LOCATED ON INDIO CANYON.

I'VE ALSO PARTICIPATED WITH SYNERGY FEST COLLABORATING AND LIVE ART IN WORKING WITH MURALS FOR THEM.

THIS IS A COLLABORATION WORK WITH THE KNOWN ARTIST CALLED CREEPY LITTLE THING IN THE VALLEY.

HERE IS SOME OF MY GENERAL ARTWORK, THIS WAS FROM A RECENT ART SHOW THAT I DID AT THE ARTISTIC HEALING CENTER.

AS A YOUNG KID, I ALWAYS HAD A HUGE PASSION FOR ART, EXPERIMENTED WITH EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING I COULD GET MY HANDS ON GROWING UP.

I'M SURE THEY ASKED MY PARENTS TODAY ABOUT MY CHILDHOOD, THEY COULD TELL YOU REAL HORROR STORIES.

FUNNY THING IS ACTUALLY GIVING PERMISSION ONE TIME TO PAINT THE ENTIRE GARAGE TO ANYTHING I WANTED.

MAYBE BECAUSE THEY GOT ME TIRED PAINTING ON ALL THE WALLS.

GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY I DECIDED TO PAINT MY ENTIRE GARAGE APPLY UNDER BRIGHT BLUE SKY AND WHITES WOULD BE CLOUDS.

LITTLE DID I KNOW THIS IS MY HAPPY PLACE WHERE HE SPENT MOST OF MY TIME DAYDREAMING ABOUT BECOMING A GREAT ARTIST.

I KNEW THIS WAS A FAR-FETCHED DREAM THERE WAS NO WAY I WAS ONLY ONE WITH THE SAME DREAM.

FAST-FORWARD TO THE YEAR 2008.

I DECIDED TO PURSUE MY DREAM OF BECOMING AN ARTIST AND MOVED TO LIMA PERU WHERE I RECEIVED MY HIRED EDUCATION AND GRAPHIC DESIGN.

SPENT MY BEST EIGHT YEARS OF STUDYING ENRICHING IN THE CULTURE.

I LATER TRAVELED TO SOUTH AMERICA WHEN I GOT THE OPPORTUNITY TO WORK AND LIVE IN BRAZIL FOR THREE YEARS.

IF YOU LOVE SUNNY WEATHER, BEACHES AND BEATABLE PEOPLE I HIGHLY RECOMMEND VISITING FOR REAL GOOD TIME.

THESE LIFE EXPERIENCES HAVE SHAPED ME INTO ARTIST I AM TODAY.

HEAVILY INFLUENCE OF THE FLAVORS OF LATINO CULTURE DEEPLY INSPIRED BY THE GREAT ARTIST I AS PART OF THE PATHWAY OF MY OWN PERSONAL HAPPINESS.

SUCH AS ELLIOT TUPAC, PROVING SCREENPRINTING AND LOVING ARTIST OF TEACHER ART AND AESTHETIC OF A RICH SOCIAL HISTORY.

THROUGH MY YEARS OF EXPERIENCE WORKING AS AN ARTIST AND GRAPHIC DESIGNER I PROVIDED ARTISTIC CREATIVITY FOR SOME OF THE TOP DESIGN STUDIOS, ADVERTISING AGENCIES AND STARTUPS AROUND THE WORLD. RECOVERY IS IDENTITY BRANDING, DIGITAL ILLUSTRATION OF MURAL PAINTING.

HOWEVER, I PREFER TO SPECIALIZE MURAL PAINTING AS IF HE'S MY ARTISTIC SOUL.

I ALWAYS BELIEVE THAT ANY ARTIST SHOULD HAVE AS MUCH KNOWLEDGE AS POSSIBLE ABOUT EVERY TYPE OF ARTISTIC EXPRESSION AND TO THIS END I HAVE MADE IT MY MISSION TO FURTHER MY PERSONAL EDUCATION IN MANY DIRECTIONS AS THEY CAN GETTING HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE WHENEVER POSSIBLE.

WITH UNDERSTANDING OF THE PROJECT I WOULD LIKE TO TAKE YOU DOWN A DEEP EXPIRATION DIVE AS I DID WITH EVERY PROJECT I APPROACH.

BEFORE PUTTING INTO PAPER AS A GOOD ART IS SHOULD I BEGIN TO ASK MY FRIENDS, FAMILY AND SELF THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTIONS ABOUT THE PROJECTS.

WHAT IS THE HISTORY OF THE CITY OF INDIO? WHAT IS THE PURPOSE AND VALUES OF THE CITY OF INDIO? WHAT IS THE FUTURE OF THE CITY OF INDIO, WHY SHOULD WE PAINT A MURAL IN THE CITY OF INDIO? HERE'S A FEW ANSWERS IN WORDS WHEN INSPIRED WE WOULD ANSWER THE QUESTIONS.

CULTURE, HISTORY, AGRICULTURE, COMMUNITY, SPIRITUAL, ARTS, NATURE, MODERN, MUSIC, FRIENDLY, FESTIVAL, POSITIVE, CELEBRATION, AND PROGRESS.

THE WORDS THAT MEANT THE MOST TO ME WERE THESE THREE WORDS COMMUNITY, ARTS AND PROGRESS.

AS I GO THROUGH MY EXPLORATION PROCESS I USUALLY LIKE TO LISTEN TO MUSIC AS IT HELPS ME FREE MY MIND FROM CLUTTER AND FOCUS ON THE CREATIVITY OF THE MEETING OF THE PROJECT.

TO THE PINK COTTON CANDY SKY MIXED WITH FEATHERS FROM THE DREAM CATCHER MAKING SURE TO CATCH A LEAVE NO DREAM LEFT BEHIND AMONG THE WISHING OF THE STARS IN THE UNIVERSE. I FEEL CERTAIN THAT MY PROVEN ABILITY TO MANAGE AND MAINTAIN THE HIGHEST STANDARDS AS ARTIST WITH THE GREATEST BENEFIT TO THE CITY OF INDIO.

I HAVE CONFIDENCE I CAN MAKE A SIGNIFICANT CONTRIBUTION TO THE COMMUNITY IN THE LIVES OF THOSE WHO PASS BY IT.
